FAQs
Simple answers to help you understand the Jarl - its design, fit, and versatility.
A jarl is a new kind of bottom-wear for men. Somewhere between trousers, a kilt and a hakama, it carries the visual familiarity of pants with a freedom of movement no modern garment offers. The design is protected by EUIPO.
The jarl is designed in Paris and handmade in Izmir, on Turkey's Aegean coast - a region with a centuries-long textile tradition and some of the most skilled garment workshops in the Mediterranean. Each piece is cut and sewn there in small batches, using already existing fabrics.
Each product page has a size chart - that's your most reliable reference. The jarl is cut to sit close to the body, like a pair of jeans, so most people stay with their usual size. If you prefer a looser, more relaxed silhouette, we recommend sizing up. Note that the length scales with the size - a larger jarl will also fall longer on the leg.
